2008 LEAGUE INFORMATION
SPORTSMANSHIP
Individuals or teams, which are unable to respect umpires and fellow players, will be removed from league play. Managers must keep things under control. Enough said on this subject.
INSURANCE COVERAGE
Los Alamos Fastpitch Association is covered by minimum ASA requirement under Bollinger Insurance for LIABILITY ONLY. This league policy does not extend medical coverage of any kind to any of our players. Team Managers: It is your obligation to convey to all of your players (especially the younger high school and/or college players) that they must provide their own medical coverage in order to have some financial protection from medical costs resulting from serious injury sustained while playing a sanctioned league and/or post-season ASA/LAFA fastpitch game.
USE OF BUN RYAN FIELD
All users of the ball fields have worked cooperatively to come up with an acceptable schedule for field use. We must strive to keep this spirit of cooperation going throughout the season. There are other groups using Bun Ryan field on the nights we are not. They are scheduled for this, so do not give them a hard time about it.
USE OF X-LOVATO FIELD
On Tuesday night we are using X-Lovato (which is a slowpitch field), and as such there are changes that should be made before we play. The bases should to be moved to the 60-foot pegs and the short pitching mound uncovered. Bases must be put back at the slowpitch pegs after we are finished for the night. If everyone helps out with these tasks, they will take little time and effort.
FIELD CONDITIONS
The Los Alamos County Parks and Recreation department will decide by 4:00 PM daily whether the fields can be used. We must respect their decision. Call 662-8173 for field information or check the LA County website for details at http://www.lac-nm.us/index.asp using the “Parks and Recreation” link.
